Previously, Lin Yishu mainly oversaw the XPeng Intelligent Driving team in North America, and the North American team is an important R & D force for XPeng Intelligent Driving.
Lin Yishu is a veteran of XPeng's intelligent driving. He was recruited by former XPeng Intelligent Driving head Wu Xinzhou in 2019 and served as the head of the big data team. Before joining XPeng, Lin Yishu was the technical head of LinkedIn.
Others who joined Wu Xinzhou's team at the same time included Parixit Ahera, the former software director of Qualcomm CR&D, Wang Tao, the former co-founder of Drive.ai, and Li Liyun, a former member of Baidu Apollo. They are all core members of XPeng Intelligent Driving, and only Li Liyun is still on the job among the above personnel.
According to a previous report by TapTechNews, in August 2023, Wu Xinzhou, the vice president of XPeng autonomous driving, left XPeng to serve as the global vice president of NVIDIA and report to Jensen Huang. After Wu Xinzhou left, some key intelligent driving technology personnel also chose to leave.
It is reported that Pengyue Zhang, the head of the static group of the perception module who also joined XPeng in 2019, has recently left. In January this year, Wang Tao (tao), the former head of perception of Intelligent Driving in North America, also resigned.
New blood is also being poured into XPeng. Yuan Tingting, the former operation head of the autonomous driving business of Alibaba Damengyuan, joined the XPeng car team and served as the senior director of XPeng's autonomous driving products.
In March this year, Xianming Liu, a former senior engineer of General Motors' autonomous driving Cruise company, has joined XPeng and serves as the head of XPeng's AI team. Some Cruise engineers and Waymo (an autonomous driving company under Google) engineers have also joined XPeng.
