2024 New Energy Vehicle Going to the Countryside Campaign kicks off in Changzhou
TapTechNews June 15th, according to the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, the launching ceremony of the 2024 New Energy Vehicle Going to the Countryside Campaign was held in Changzhou, Jiangsu on the 14th. Guo Shougang, deputy director of the First Department of Equipment Industry of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, said that this year the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology will carry out the New Energy Vehicle going to the Countryside Campaign with higher quality in conjunction with policies such as car trade-in and county-level charging and swapping infrastructure complementary, and promote charging and swapping services, credit, claims and other financial insurance services, and after-sales maintenance services to go to the countryside simultaneously, so that new energy vehicles can better enter thousands of households.
The first station event in this campaign involves 41 brands (the specific brands were not disclosed by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology) and 113 models. Since China launched the New Energy Vehicle going to the Countryside Campaign in 2020, a total of 24 special events have been held in 10 provinces (cities), and the participating automobile enterprises have cumulatively released nearly 270 models for the countryside campaign, driving the cumulative sales of new energy vehicles by over 7 million units.
He Yi, deputy secretary-general of the China Automobile Industry Association, said that in the past four years, the Association has jointly carried out 24 events going to the countryside with local governments in 10 provinces (cities) across the country and released 7 batches of cumulative nearly 270 models for the countryside campaign, and the cumulative sales of new energy vehicles for the countryside campaign reached over 7 million units.
According to TapTechNews' previous report, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology announced 99 models that can participate in the 2024 New Energy Vehicle going to the Countryside Campaign on May 16th.
This campaign lasts from May to December 2024. It selects new energy vehicle models suitable for the rural market, with good reputation and reliable quality, and conducts concentrated exhibitions, test drives and other activities to enrich the consumption experience and provide diverse choices. It also organizes charging and swapping services, financial services such as underwriting, claims settlement, and credit for new energy vehicles, as well as after-sales services such as maintenance to go to the countryside simultaneously to make up for the shortcomings of the supporting environment in rural areas.
