First Provincial Inter-provincial Cross-Sea Helicopter Route in China Makes Successful First Flight

TapTechNews September 29th news, according to CCTV News, the first provincial inter-provincial cross-sea helicopter route in China successfully made its first flight today, departing from Sanya, Hainan to Zhanjiang, Guangdong, with a flight duration of only 60 minutes.

The first flight model is the Sikorsky S76 medium twin-engine helicopter, which can carry 12 passengers, taking off from Sanya Tianya Helicopter Airport and arriving at Zhanjiang Xintang Helicopter Landing Point. During the trial operation period, this route mainly provides charter services, and customers can customize their exclusive flight plans according to their needs.

According to reports, after the opening of this route, flight frequencies will be appropriately increased during weekends, holidays, exhibition periods, and tourist peak seasons, and diversified models including Sikorsky S92 (TapTechNews note: 19 passengers) and Bell 429 (6 passengers) will be deployed, which can provide passengers with in-air viewing experiences such as Wuzhishan, Moon Bay, mangroves, and Huguangyan while enhancing transportation convenience.

Compared to large airports, passengers here can enjoy a more flexible, convenient, and accessible check-in, security check, and boarding process, greatly shortening the waiting time.
