TapTechNews July 5th news, on July 4th, the Douyin E-commerce operation team released a public notice on amending the Douyin E-commerce Merchant's 0 Yuan Settlement Trial Operation Specification.

According to the notice, alcohol-related categories do not support participation in the 0 Yuan Settlement trial operation, involving categories such as Baijiu (Chinese liquor), fruit wine, Lujiu (sweet and mellow wine), pre-mixed cocktail / Alcopop, traditional Huangjiu (yellow rice wine), rice wine, beer, domestic wine, imported wine, Vodka, domestic brandy, domestic whisky, Gin, imported brandy, imported whisky, Rum, Liqueur, Tequila, Plum wine, Sake / Shochu, Vermouth and so on.

The rule's public notice period is from July 4th, 2024 to July 10th, 2024, and is expected to take effect on July 11th.

TapTechNews understands that the 0 Yuan Settlement means that some new merchants are allowed to initially settle on the platform for limited trial operation without having to pay the deposit first, and then gradually recharge the deposit to the platform standard through the payment of goods later. If the merchant's associated entity has had previous violations or business risks, the platform has the right to limit its participation in the 0 Yuan Settlement, and has the right to require the merchant to pay the deposit before carrying out business activities according to the specific situation.

In addition, the 0 Yuan Settlement trial operation store also has many limitations, for example, it can be withdrawn only once a month, and the withdrawal range of the payment for goods is 100 Yuan ≤ withdrawal amount ≤ 50% of the balance of the payment for goods; the total number of online products in individual stores ≤ 100, and the total number of online products in enterprise stores ≤ 200; restrictions on participating in all marketing activities of the platform and the Select Alliance, etc.
