Apple Launches tvOS18 with InSight Feature at WWDC 2024

TapTechNews June 11th news, at the 2024 WWDC Global Developers Conference held by Apple today, it officially launched the tvOS18 system update for AppleTV, where the most notable feature is InSight.

TapTechNews note: InSight is similar to Amazon's X-ray, but only for Apple's original content. After the user pauses a movie or program, InSight will overlay the metadata of the current scene and is applicable to supported content.

InSight will display the current list of actors and the current soundtrack and directly link to AppleMusic. InSight will be provided in the TV app on tvOS and in the TV app on iPhone and iPad.

In the video aspect, Apple tvOS18 now supports 21:9 projectors for the first time. In the audio aspect, Apple has also upgraded the Enhance Dialogue function through machine learning to improve the effect of voice isolation.

tvOS18 has further expanded the EnhanceDialogue function, which was previously only applicable to AppleTV and HomePod, and now supports TV speakers, receivers, or Bluetooth audio output, etc.

tvOS18 will also offer a set of upgraded screen savers, including a new Snoopy animated screen saver and an option featuring scenes from AppleTV+ programs.
