BYD Unveils 'Birthplace of World's First Plug-in Hybrid EV' in Xi'an

TapTechNews May 24th, BYD Auto officially announced that the unveiling ceremony of the 'Birthplace of the World's First Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle' was held today at BYD Xi'an High-tech Industrial Park.

@Wugong Li Yunfei, general manager of BYD Brand and Public Relations Department, tweeted to express congratulations that the sign of the 'Birthplace of the World's First Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle' has been officially erected in Xi'an! Xi'an is a famous historical and cultural city and also a blessed land for BYD. At the same time, at the end of the tweet, it also previewed that BYD will hold a large-scale press conference on May 28th to 'unveil a big move' and announce BYD's fifth-generation DM technology.

TapTechNews noticed that a BYD F3DM car was parked at the scene of the unveiling ceremony. This is the world's first plug-in hybrid electric vehicle, which was launched in 2010 and is equipped with a DM dual-power hybrid system. DM is the abbreviation for DUALMODE.
