On July 8th, the Jinan Municipal Bureau of Industry and Information Technology released the 'Notice on the Proposed Opening of Intelligent Connected Vehicle Test Roads', and the Jinan Public Transport Group and WeRide jointly applied to open some urban roads as intelligent connected vehicle test roads.

It is worth noting that on July 3rd, five departments including the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the Ministry of Public Security, and the Ministry of Transport also announced that application pilots of 'ehicle-road-cloud integration' for intelligent connected vehicles would be carried out in 20 cities including Beijing, Shanghai, and Jinan.

In addition, the Qingdao Municipal Bureau of Industry and Information Technology also released the 'Notice on Announcing the Catalog of Open Test Roads for Intelligent Connected Vehicles in Qingdao (First Batch in 2024)', involving a total of 121 roads in eight districts (cities) such as Shinan District and Shibei District, and some roads are only open for specific sections.

According to the road catalog published on the website of the Qingdao Municipal Bureau of Industry and Information Technology, the intelligent connected vehicle test roads opened in this batch are used for road tests and demonstration applications (including commercial demonstrations) of intelligent connected vehicles (including low-speed driverless vehicles). Relevant entities that meet the requirements of the 'Administrative Implementation Rules for Road Tests and Demonstration Applications of Intelligent Connected Vehicles in Qingdao (Trial)' and the 'Administrative Implementation Rules for Road Tests and Commercial Demonstrations of Low-Speed Driverless Vehicles in Qingdao (Trial)' can select appropriate roads from this catalog according to needs and apply to the Municipal Intelligent Connected Vehicle Road Test and Demonstration Application Joint Working Group to carry out relevant activities. The intelligent connected vehicles for relevant activities should obtain temporary driving license plates or vehicle codes and conduct tests on the designated roads.

Of course, the official also emphasized that when the test entities carry out relevant activities, they should avoi d inappropriate test periods, and the test entities that violate the regulations will be punished by the public security traffic management department in accordance with the law.
