TapTechNews May 22nd, at Google's recent I/O 2024 conference, Google introduced a logo called 'Add to Chromebook'. Developers can embed the relevant API into their webpages, thus allowing Chromebook users to quickly install PWA applications on their devices by clicking the button when browsing.
It is said that the relevant buttons are mainly built around PWA and are claimed to have certain rapidity. Google claims:
In the past, people could only package and save the webpages they were currently browsing on the device's home page by clicking a specific tab of the browser. But now the introduced 'Add to Chromebook' logo allows users to directly click the button to send the webpage to the device's home page. People can integrate the relevant webpages into the desktop from various scenarios such as blogs, marketing pages, and forums through a simple button, which is quite friendly to Chromebook and other Web devices.
It is said that Google has officially supported the relevant features in ChromeOS 126. Currently, websites such as Figma and LumaTouch have officially launched the relevant buttons. However, TapTechNews noticed that for non-ChromeOS devices, clicking the relevant button will jump to the APK application page of the Play application store.
