Blizzard Cancels Overwatch 2's HeroMasteryGauntlet PvE mode

TapTechNews on May 23rd, the launch of Overwatch 2 has always emphasized a brand-new PvE mode, but the actual effect failed to meet expectations.

Blizzard recently announced on its official website the cancellation of the HeroMasteryGauntlet PvE mode in Overwatch 2 because it believes that this mode didn't resonate with the players.

The HeroMasteryGauntlet is similar to the hero mastery mode, but it requires 3 players to cooperate and join forces in a unique tower defense mode to defeat the continuously attacking enemy robots.

Blizzard's latest announcement declares the termination of the HeroMasteryGauntlet as a permanent mode, and players will not be able to play this mode starting from Season 11, but the single-player gameplay will still be retained.

TapTechNews noted that the HeroMasteryGauntlet was launched in March 2024, which means it ended just three months after its release.
