TapTechNews on May 23rd, the launch of Overwatch 2 has always emphasized a brand-new PvE mode, but the actual effect failed to meet expectations.
Blizzard recently announced on its official website the cancellation of the HeroMasteryGauntlet PvE mode in Overwatch 2 because it believes that this mode didn't resonate with the players.
The HeroMasteryGauntlet is similar to the hero mastery mode, but it requires 3 players to cooperate and join forces in a unique tower defense mode to defeat the continuously attacking enemy robots.
Blizzard's latest announcement declares the termination of the HeroMasteryGauntlet as a permanent mode, and players will not be able to play this mode starting from Season 11, but the single-player gameplay will still be retained.
TapTechNews noted that the HeroMasteryGauntlet was launched in March 2024, which means it ended just three months after its release. This mode has also received a lot of criticism from many players, such as a popular post on Blizzard's official forum on April 22nd, where players said What I want is not PvE, but the story mode, claiming that the PvE mode of Overwatch 2 has poor playability.
