Microsoft Promotes New 3D Banner to Set Edge as Default Browser

According to TapTechNews on June 18, WindowsLatest, a tech media, published a blog post yesterday (June 17) stating that Microsoft has started promoting a brand-new 3D banner strongly inviting users to set Microsoft Edge as the default browser in the Windows 11 system.

The media said that Microsoft has been testing this 3D banner for some time and now starts to push it to more users. If Edge is not the user's default browser, after the user directly opens Edge or opens the Edge browser through a file such as a PDF, a new banner will pop up, recommending the user to set it as the default browser.

There will be two button options on the banner page, Confirm and Set Later. After the user clicks the former, it will jump to the settings page, and the prompt Set Microsoft Edge as the default browser will appear in the default application.

TapTechNews note: This is not the first time Microsoft has used a pop-up window in the Edge browser. We have already seen similar prompts in this browser, including when you try to download the Google Chrome browser, a pop-up window encourages you to continue using the Edge browser.
