Qualcomm to Launch Low-Cost WoA Processor in 2025

TapTechNews June 18 news, Kuo Ming-chi through his Medium account posted a blog post, stating that Qualcomm plans to launch a low-cost WoA processor for mainstream models (priced at 599-799 US dollars) with the code name Canim in the fourth quarter of 2025.

Kuo Ming-chi said that Qualcomm will introduce the enhanced version of the Snapdragon X Plus and Snapdragon X Elite processors in 2025, and in addition, a low-cost WoA processor with the code name Canim will be launched.

The processor uses TSMC's N4 process, and the estimated AI computing power is the same as that of the existing X Elite/X Plus, reaching 40 trillion floating-point operations per second (TOPS).

Kuo Ming-chi also estimated that the shipment volume of Qualcomm Snapdragon X Elite/X Plus processors in 2024 will be 2 million units, and the shipment volume in 2025 will increase by 100-200% year-on-year.

Kuo Ming-chi also said that the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen4 (SM8750) to be mass-produced in the second half of 2024, due to the adoption of TSMC's latest and more expensive N3E process, quoted at 190-200 US dollars (TapTechNews note: currently about 1382-1455 RMB), which is 25-30% higher than the existing flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen3 (SM8650).
