The site owner did not mention the reason for closing the website, only stating that it was made after careful consideration. TapTechNews quoted the media report that the website has been facing huge legal pressure in recent months, and this may be an important factor for its closure.

Before the closure of Animeflix, it had monthly visits of tens of millions of times, and has become one of the most popular anime pirated portal websites.

The website also has an active Discord community with about 35,000 members who actively participate in discussions, art competitions, and even chess competitions.

The Animeflix website was listed as one of the targets to be closed by the anti-piracy alliance ACE in December last year. It is not clear whether these early law enforcement efforts led to the closure of the website.
