Comparative Analysis of Qualcomm Snapdragon XElite and Apple M3 Chip Performance

The Microsoft's all-new Surface Pro 11th version with the 12-core Snapdragon XElite (model X1E80100, main frequency 3.40 GHz) has a GeekBench single-core score of 2837 and a multi-core score of 14398.

TapTechNews queried the GeekBench scoring database. The single-core score of the 13-inch MacBook Air with the Apple M3 chip is mostly over 3000 points, and one of the results is a single-core 3104 points, while the multi-core score is 12028 points. This means that the single-core performance of the Snapdragon XElite is inferior to that of Apple M3, but the multi-core performance is 20% higher.

Energy Efficiency Test

The energy efficiency test is more complicated because it depends on the test environment and the specific chip; the Qualcomm Snapdragon XElite chip has multiple variants with different operating clock speeds.

However, a test by NotebookCheck shows that the XElite (model X1E78100) consumes about 14W of power when running Cinebench, while the M3 is 10W.

It should be noted that Apple's M3-generation products are already one generation behind. Apple has already released the M4 chip, and previously it was news that Apple will release the MacBook with the M4 chip in the fourth quarter.
