SAIC Unveils New Energy Technologies

TapTechNews May 24th news, during SAIC Motor's new energy technology conference tonight, SAIC released the pure electric exclusive serialized platform - Nebula 2.0, which can cover luxury cars, mid-level cars, and entry-level markets, and the comprehensive cruising range can reach up to 1000 kilometers (about 621 miles).

This platform will also bring lower vehicle power consumption. The official said that the mileage per kilowatt-hour can reach 12 kilometers (about 7.46 miles), an increase of more than 30% compared to the existing level. In addition, this platform will also support the wire-controlled chassis, which can increase the vehicle braking response time by 40% and the vehicle driving stability boundary by 20%, and support four-wheel independent control, steering wheel storage and other functions.

According to the introduction, this platform has also reached the European five-star crash safety standard, meets the requirements of global network data security regulations such as UNECER155 & ECER156 and GDPR, and realizes the improvement of vehicle handling, the increase of vehicle cruising range by more than 3%, and the reduction of vehicle weight by more than 3% through four-wheel independent control, and the low-speed steering angle will be less than 180 degrees.

SAIC also released the Galaxy electric-hydrogen integrated vehicle architecture, pioneered the architecture plan of the extended-range hydrogen fuel cell passenger car, and claimed to truly achieve zero carbon and zero emissions. (TapTechNews note: Using the hydrogen fuel cell as a range extender, and connecting the power battery and the drive motor in series as the drive unit of the vehicle).

In addition, the IM L6 equipped with the Lightyear solid-state battery will be officially delivered in October this year, and its energy density exceeds 300 Wh/kg, and the cruising range exceeds 1000 kilometers (about 621 miles).
