TapTechNews reader 1933769 provided a tip to SoftMedia's new friend! \n\nTapTechNews May 15th news, at Google's I/O 2024 developer conference today, announced the introduction of AI fraud call detection feature for the Android system, reminding possible fraud behaviors during calls, and encouraging users to end such calls.\n\nGoogle said that the feature is based on the locally run GeminiNano model, matching and searching for fraudulent language and other conversation patterns usually associated with fraud during calls. If a suspicious call is encountered, an alert will be issued to remind the user.\n\nTapTechNews attached examples provided by Google: fraudsters posing as bank staff, asking for passwords or bank card information, requesting payment via gift cards, or requesting urgent transfers. GeminiNano can identify these scenarios and remind users to be cautious.\n\nIn terms of security, Google said that these new protective measures are implemented entirely on the device, so the conversations monitored by GeminiNano will remain private.\n\nIt is not yet known when this fraud detection feature will be launched, but Google said that the feature is disabled by default and needs to be manually activated by users to take effect. Google will share more information later this year.\n\n2024 Google I/O Developer Conference Special\n
