Baldur's Gate 3 to Get Official PC Mod Tools in September Update

TapTechNews June 3rd. Larian Studios officially announced today that the next major update of Baldur's Gate 3 will include the official PC Mod tools for the game.

In a post on the Steam page, Larian said that the Mod tools will be included as part of Update 7, which is currently scheduled for release in September. Starting today (June 3rd), the studio will launch a closed alpha test of the Mod software and invite some selected Mod authors to try out the official tools.

In July, PC players will be able to sign up for the internal test in a way, allowing a maximum of 1,000 players to test the Mod tools.

TapTechNews learned from the announcement that the official Mod tools will be first launched on the PC platform, and later the support for downloading and using Mods through the toolkit will be added to the game versions on Mac, PlayStation and Xbox.

Conflicts between the game update of Baldur's Gate 3 and third-party Mods may cause problems with the stability of the game and prevent the Mod from working properly, while the officially supported Mod will avoid this problem. Larian promised that it will never prevent third-party Mods, but the official Mod will improve compatibility so that it can be played properly on any platform.
