WeChat Pay and Palm Scan Available in Macau for Public Transport and More

TapTechNews September 22nd news, the Transport Bureau of the Macau Special Administrative Region government announced yesterday (21st) that from 0:00 am on September 24th, both versions of WeChat Pay (in the Chinese mainland and Hong Kong, China) can use the ride code (search for bus code in the WeChat mini-program) to scan the code and pay the fare on Macau public buses.

The fare for each trip using the above payment method is 6 Macau patacas (about 77 US cents), and there is no fare discount or transfer discount. Currently, nearly 92% of the fares of public buses are paid through Macau Pass Card, Gathered Easy Use+, UnionPay QuickPass (Macau users), Alipay (in the Chinese mainland and Hong Kong, China) and other electronic means.

TapTechNews noticed that WeChat Palm Scan has also been launched in the Macau Special Administrative Region before, opening more than 60 points to be scanned, covering areas such as Wave Pool, Galaxy Hotel & Broadway, StarWorld Hotel, etc.
