The Completion of Track Laying of Sichuan-Chengdu to Qinghai-Xining Railway

TapTechNews June 29th news, today, the first plateau railway in the northwestern Sichuan of our country - newly built Sichuan Chengdu to Qinghai Xining Railway (Chuanqing Railway), the track laying of the Zhenjiangguan to Huangshengguan section has been fully completed, which means that the history of no railway in the northwestern Sichuan plateau and no train from Chengdu to Huanglong Jiuzhaigou in Sichuan will come to an end.

This section of railway is planned to be completed and opened to traffic within this year. By then, the bullet train will set foot on the northwestern Sichuan plateau with an altitude of more than 3,000 meters (about 9842.5 feet) for the first time. From Chengdu to world-famous scenic spots such as Jiuzhaigou and Huanglong, it will also be shortened from the current more than 7 hours by car to about 3 hours.

The Chuanqing Railway is an important part of the Lanzhou and Xining to Guangzhou channel in China's eight vertical and eight horizontal high-speed railway network, and it is a national Class I double-track railway; the whole line is constructed in sections, of which the section from Qingbaijiangdong to Zhenjiangguan has been opened on November 28 last year, and the plan for the section from Zhenjiangguan to Huangshengguan is to be opened to traffic within this year.

Officials pointed out that after the full opening and operation of the Chuanqing Railway, it will greatly facilitate the travel of people of all ethnic groups along the line, and has very important significance for promoting the economic and social development along the line, maintaining ethnic unity, and serving the great development of the western region.

TapTechNews learned from public information that the Chuanqing Railway starts from Chengdu East Station, passes through Chengdu City and Aba Tibetan and Qiang Autonomous Prefecture in Sichuan Province, Gannan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture in Gansu Province, Huangnan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Haidong City and Xining City in Qinghai Province, and connects to Xining Station. The total length of the main line is about 836 kilometers (about 519.4 miles), and the designed speed is 200 kilometers per hour.
