The current weight of Alto is 680 kilograms (about 1499 pounds), and Suzuki Motor hopes to reduce its weight by 100 kilograms (about 220 pounds). Tatsuya Matsuda, an executive in charge of automotive technology at Suzuki Motor, said, If the vehicle is too heavy, we also have to increase the size of the battery and motor to obtain long range and good performance. He pointed out that smaller motors and batteries are expected to reduce the price of Suzuki models.
