TapTechNews August 26th news, the New Cornerstone Science Foundation today announced the list of winners of the 6th Science Exploration Award, and 49 young scientists were on the list.

The Science Exploration Award was established in 2018 and was jointly initiated by 14 well-known scientists such as Yang Zhenning, Rao Yi, Shi Yigong, Pan Jianwei, Xie Xiaoliang, and Ma Huateng, the founder of Tencent. Each winner will receive a total of 3 million Chinese yuan in prize money within 5 years, and can be freely disposed of.

The Science Exploration Award is set in 10 fields, including mathematical physics, chemical new materials, astronomy and geoscience, life sciences, medical sciences, information electronics, energy and environment, advanced manufacturing, transportation and construction, and cutting-edge intersections.

In order to further strengthen the support for female researchers, starting from this year, the age limit for female researchers to apply for the Science Exploration Award has been relaxed from 45 years old to 48 years old (born on or after January 1, 1975), while the age for men remains unchanged at 45 years old (born on or after January 1, 1978).
