Analysts point out that due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and inflation, the demand growth for OLED in laptops and tablets in 2022 and 2023 has slowed down, but with the emergence of AIPC and the progress of AI performance, PC manufacturers have begun to launch related new products this year. It is expected that the factor of Microsoft will stop supporting Windows 10 in the second half of 2025 will also stimulate the recovery of the laptop and tablet market.

As the demand for OLED displays continues to surge, mainstream display panel manufacturers are making strategic positioning adjustments and follow-ups to cater to this trend.

Senior chief analyst Ricky Park of Omdia Display Research said, Apple is highly likely to introduce OLED into its MacBook Pro models in the early 2026. This move may trigger a significant increase in the demand for OLED panels in the laptop market, and the demand may reach more than 60 million by 2031.

According to TapTechNews' previous reports, Samsung Display and BOE have already announced in 2023 that they will invest in G8.6 OLED factories and plan to purchase new equipment to lay the foundation for large-scale production. At the same time, China's Visionox is also preparing to invest in new production lines and is expected to start mass production in 2026 or 2027, which will be crucial to meeting the growing demand for OLED displays in laptops and tablets.
