China-Europe Freight Trains Reach 10,000 Runs This Year Ahead of Schedule

TapTechNews July 11th news, at 11:46 on July 10th, as the X8017 all-round timetable China-Europe freight train (Wuhan - Duisburg) departed from Wujiashan Station, since the beginning of this year, the cumulative number of China-Europe freight trains has reached 10,000, breaking the 10,000 mark 19 days earlier than last year, and the cumulative delivery of goods has reached 1.083 million twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs), an increase of 11% year-on-year.

The X8017 train is fully loaded with 55 containers of goods such as light textile clothing, medical supplies, and electronic products, and departs from Wujiashan Railway Station in Wuhan. It is expected to arrive in Duisburg, Germany, which is thousands of miles away in 13 days.

China-Europe freight train is organized by the China Railway Corporation and operates in accordance with fixed train numbers, routes, schedules, and full-operation timetables. It is a railway international combined transport train running between China and Europe and among the countries jointly building the Belt and Road Initiative.

Up to now, the China-Europe freight train has reached 224 cities in 25 European countries and connected more than 100 cities in 11 Asian countries. The service network basically covers the entire Eurasian region. The annual transport value of the China-Europe freight train has increased from 8 billion US dollars (TapTechNews note: currently about 58.299 billion yuan) in 2016 to 56.7 billion US dollars (currently about 413.196 billion yuan) in 2023.
