North Bay Intelligent Connected Vehicle Project Tender in Wuhu

TapTechNews on June 24th, TapTechNews learned from the Wuhu Public Resources Trading Center in Anhui Province that the latest tender for the North Bay Intelligent Connected Vehicle Industrial Base Construction Project (hereinafter referred to as the North Bay Project) will start on July 23rd.

The tender plan shows that the project includes but is not limited to stamping workshop, welding workshop, die-casting workshop, painting workshop, final assembly workshop, sorting and distribution workshop, management center, catering center, power center and its supporting projects, and the contract estimated price is 2 billion US dollars.

The tenderer, Wuhu Rongrui Industrial Investment Co., Ltd., is a local state-owned enterprise in Wuhu City, and the Wuhu Municipal State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission directly and indirectly holds 37.5% of the shares, being the largest single shareholder.

The Caixin news agency confirmed with the staff of the Wuhu City Jiujiang District Economic Development Zone Management Committee that this project is for Chery's latest complete vehicle project, not the recently highly concerned vehicle-road-cloud project.

Last October, the Wuhu Municipal Development and Reform Commission stated that it is actively planning and promoting the construction of special lines for Chery's Super Third Factory and Super Fourth Factory (Super First Factory has been put into production in 2023, and Super Second Factory has been put into production and produces Zhijie brand vehicles).

In January this year, the official website of the Jiujiang District People's Government showed that the Chery Super Factory project plans a total investment of 12 billion US dollars, covering an area of 2,691 acres, to build a Chery whole vehicle manufacturing and related core component production base project, and the annual output value after the project reaches production capacity will exceed 20 billion US dollars.
