AppleInsider Introduces MLX Project for Parallel Computing

This concept is not new. Apple has previously explored and developed the XGrid project, connecting multiple Mac devices in series to achieve parallel computing, but it is mainly targeted at enterprises and government agencies and is not very friendly to consumers and amateurs.

The MLX project uses MPI distributed computing and connects the master machine and multiple Mac devices through Thunderbolt 4 cables, which can achieve efficient parallel computing, especially suitable for scenarios such as training AI in the home environment.
