China's Longlong High-Speed Railway's Meizhou-Longchuan Section Enters Trial Operation
TapTechNews August 20th news, the China Railway Corporation announced today that the Meizhou-Longchuan section of the Longyan-Longchuan High-Speed Railway (hereinafter referred to as the Meilong section of the Longlong High-Speed Railway by TapTechNews) has officially entered the trial operation stage, while the Longyan-Wuping section of the Longlong High-Speed Railway was officially opened and put into operation in December last year.
The Longlong High-Speed Railway starts from Longyan Station in Longyan City, Fujian Province, and ends at Longchuan West Station in Heyuan City, Guangdong Province. The total length of the line is 290 kilometers (about 180 miles), and it is constructed in three sections: Longyan to Wuping, Wuping to Meizhou, and Meizhou to Longchuan. Among them, the Longyan-Wuping section was opened and put into operation on December 26, 2023, and the Wuping-Meizhou section is under construction.
The newly built Meizhou-Longchuan Railway is located in Meizhou City and Heyuan City, Guangdong Province. It starts from Meizhou West Station of the Meishan-Shantou High-Speed Railway, passes through Meixian District, Xingning City, Wuhua County, and Longchuan County, and finally ends at the under-construction Longchuan West Station of the Ganzhou-Shenzhen High-Speed Railway (excluding), roughly showing an east-west direction. It is a double-track high-speed railway with a bridge-tunnel ratio of 82.72%.
The main line of the Meilong section of the Longlong High-Speed Railway is 93.982 kilometers (about 58.4 miles) long. There are 4 stations set up along the whole line, and the new Xingning South Station and Wuhua Station are built. At the same time, the Longchuan area builds the up and down connecting lines with the Ganzhou-Shenzhen High-Speed Railway. The designed speed is 350 kilometers per hour (about 217 miles per hour), and the project will be opened and put into operation within this year.
The official of the China Railway Corporation pointed out that after the opening and operation of the Meilong section of the Longlong High-Speed Railway, the fastest running time of the trains from Meizhou to Guangzhou, Shenzhen and other cities in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area will be shortened to about 1.5 hours.
