Shanxi Province Issues Automobile Trade-in Subsidy Rules
TapTechNews reported on June 3 that on May 31, seven departments including the Department of Commerce of Shanxi Province issued the Detailed Rules for the Implementation of the Provincial Automobile Trade-in Subsidy.
The Detailed Rules make detailed regulations on the scope and standards of subsidies, subsidy application and review, subsidy payment and management, and supervision and management. From April 24, 2024, to December 31, 2024, individual consumers who scrap petrol passenger cars with national emission standards of level III or below or new energy passenger cars registered before April 30, 2018, and purchase new energy passenger cars included in the 'Catalogue of New Energy Automobile Models for Tax Reduction and Exemption of Vehicle Purchase Tax' of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology or petrol passenger cars with a displacement of 2.0 liters and below will be given a one-time fixed subsidy. Among them, a subsidy of 10,000 US dollars will be given for those who scrap the above two types of old cars and purchase new energy passenger cars, and a subsidy of 7,000 US dollars for those who scrap petrol passenger cars with national emission standards of level III or below and purchase petrol passenger cars with a displacement of 2.0 liters and below. For individual consumers who transfer passenger cars held in their personal names for more than one year through the second-hand car dealership enterprises or second-hand car trading markets that have been filed in the province, and purchase registered passenger cars in the province, a subsidy of 2,000 US dollars will be given.

If meeting the relevant requirements, consumers can submit a subsidy application by logging in to the National Automobile Circulation Information Management System website or the 'Automobile Trade-in New' mini-program before January 10, 2025, and filling in personal identity information, vehicle identification code of the scrapped car, etc. to the subsidy acceptance place.
