Second Domestic Large Cruise Ship Progress and Improvements

TapTechNews July 15th news, CCTV News reported that the second domestic large cruise ship has undergone more than 3 months of outfitting and assembling, and has begun to take shape. Currently, the three-story platform of the large components has been completely formed, and structural welding and equipment installation work are underway.

Compared with the previous generation, the second domestic large cruise ship has significant improvements in ship dimensions, cabin layout, and system configuration, but the construction time is shorter. The dock cycle is compressed by nearly 8 months, and the construction efficiency is increased by 20%.

According to TapTechNews' previous reports, the second domestic large cruise ship achieved the engineering milestone of continuous outfitting in the dock on April 20th, marking that the domestic large cruise ship project is moving towards building batch design and construction capabilities.

Since entering the dock in April, 28 blocks and 26 sections have completed outfitting in the dock. Currently, 80% of the ship's structural sections have been completed. According to the plan, the second domestic large cruise ship will first float in early May 2025, leave the dock at the end of March 2026, start sea trials in June 2026, and be named and delivered before the end of 2026.

Compared to the first domestic large cruise ship, the second domestic large cruise ship has a larger gross tonnage, a longer length, and the number of cabins has increased by 19 to 2144. In addition, through optimized design and layout, the area of public areas and outdoor leisure and entertainment areas of the second domestic large cruise ship has also been significantly increased.
