Despite the relatively flat overall sales, Kia's pure electric vehicle sales continue to grow rapidly. The South Korean manufacturer said it expects the electric vehicle sales to maintain a good momentum after the launch of the new pure electric vehicle EV3 and the upgraded EV6 in the second half of 2024.

According to Kia's data, its retail sales of pure electric vehicles in April reached 17,140 units, with a year-on-year increase of 90% (estimated value, as the 2023 data has not been fully released), and the share of electric vehicles in the total sales of this brand almost reached 7%.

The wholesale shipment volume (closely related to production) of Kia's models based on E-GMP was 8,904 units, with a year-on-year decrease of 6%, which includes EV3, EV6 and EV9 produced in Korea and EV5 produced in China.

The company's best-selling electric vehicle model is Kia EV6, with sales of 5,728 units (a year-on-year decrease of 39%). We believe that after the upgraded version of EV6 is launched, its performance will improve. TapTechNews attaches the insideevs statistical chart as follows:
