Shenzhen Government Issues Action Plan for Equipment Upgrades and Trade-ins

On May 14, TapTechNews reported that the Shenzhen Municipal Government issued the Action Plan for Promoting Large-scale Equipment Upgrades and Trade-ins for Consumer Goods (hereinafter referred to as the Action Plan), proposing 50 specific measures around seven major actions.

Shenzhen aims to stimulate over 180 billion yuan in investment + consumption by 2025, achieve greater benefits from large-scale equipment upgrades and trade-ins for consumer goods, accelerate the construction of a more globally influential economic center and modern international metropolis.

In the field of construction and municipal infrastructure, Shenzhen will promote the intelligent and orderly transformation of charging piles, accelerate the high-power upgrade of DC fast-charging stations, strive to build no less than 1,000 ultra-fast-charging stations (with power exceeding 480 kilowatts) by 2024, and by 2025, construct over 60 comprehensive energy supply stations and install no less than 600,000 charging facilities; promote the comprehensive application of distributed photovoltaics, with an additional 1.5 million kilowatts of distributed photovoltaics by 2025.

As of the end of 2023, Shenzhen had over 970,000 new energy vehicles, with electric vehicle penetration exceeding 60%. According to relevant plans, by the end of 2025, the scale of new energy vehicles in Shenzhen will reach 1.3 million units.

In the transportation sector, the Action Plan proposes six specific measures, including promoting the update of rail transit equipment, upgrading road traffic vehicles to electric, replacing cleaning and logistics vehicles with clean energy, renovating port and nearshore facilities, upgrading smart transportation infrastructure, and renovating and ensuring the safety of electric bicycle charging and swapping cabinets. By 2025, the city aims to replace no less than 50,000 new energy logistics vehicles and fully promote a unified swapping model in commercial scenarios such as logistics distribution.

In the equipment update in the manufacturing sector, the Action Plan proposes promoting batch equipment updates and digitalization and intelligence upgrades for manufacturing enterprises, creating 200 industrial Internet benchmark demonstration projects by 2025; promoting the green transformation of industrial enterprises, supporting energy efficiency and carbon reduction upgrades in key areas such as integrated circuits, display panels, batteries, and pharmaceuticals; promoting the digitalization, intelligence, and green transformation of industrial parklands, completing green and low-carbon transformations in no less than 100 industrial parks by 2024.
