Hideo Kojima's New Game 'OD' to Bring Experimental Gaming Experience, Featuring Multimedia and Horror Elements

TapTechNews May 13th news, whistleblower DuskGolem recently released some information about Hideo Kojima's new work 'OD', which is said to bring an 'experimental' gaming experience.

The information released by the blogger is as follows:

This game aims to be an experimental experience, allowing players to break through in the game using multimedia.

It will have very long cutscenes, and players can choose between active and passive gameplay.

The first type of gameplay requires players to use multimedia in the game – they must use observation and 'guiding' characters, as well as information obtained from other sources (such as web pages, phone message systems that interact with the game), and provide assistance by changing things in the environment and giving directions to characters.

The other gameplay involves first-person perspective, targeting traditional horror game players in the sense of mysterious puzzle solving, without as lengthy cutscenes.

Combining with TapTechNews's previous report, Hideo Kojima revealed earlier this year that this year will be a year of simultaneous development of two games 'DS2 (Death Stranding 2)' and 'OD'. 'I want to focus on making games, so I want to limit business trips, but I can't reduce business trips to zero because I have to shoot for 'OD', make a 'DS (Death Stranding)' movie, and do other video projects......So, it looks like it will be a very tough year, but I am working hard to enjoy the year of the dragon in some way.'

To promote the new game 'OD', Hideo Kojima plans to form a 'Horror Avengers Alliance', with the possibility of inviting Junji Ito. For the developing game 'OD', Hideo Kojima has an ambitious idea - to integrate games and movies to create a new media experience.
