LG TVs Display Full-Screen Ads, But There's a Way to Disable Them

TapTechNews September 27th news, the tech media flatpanelshd posted a blog on September 25th, lamenting that even if users buy one of the most expensive TVs, they still can't escape advertisements.

When this media evaluated the latest high-end LG G4 OLEDTV, it was found that full-screen screensaver advertisements would be displayed, and the advertisement system would be based on regional settings to display different full-screen advertisements locally.

The LG G4 OLEDTV currently has 5 sizes:

LG OLED55G4SUB (55-inch): $2599.99 (TapTechNews note: currently about 18,197 RMB).

LG OLED65G4SUB (65-inch): $3399.99 (currently about 23,796 RMB).

LG OLED77G4WUA (77-inch): $4599.99 (currently about 32,195 RMB).

LG OLED83G4WUA (83-inch): $6499.99 (currently about 45,492 RMB).

LG OLED97G4WUA (97-inch): $24,999.99 (currently about 175,000 RMB).

This advertisement includes full-screen advertisements of some external partners in addition to promoting LG Channels (LG's free, advertisement-supported streaming service), and TapTechNews attached relevant pictures as follows:

These advertisements are currently in mute state, but the media said that it does not rule out the possibility of adding audible advertisements in the future.

However, users can currently block these full-screen advertisements, and the operation steps are as follows:

Enter the TV's settings.

Select Additional settings.

Find the toggle button of Screen Saver Promotion.

Then turn off this option to disable the screensaver advertisement.
