Heavy Rainfall in Hunan's Zixing City Causing Disasters and Communication Restoration Efforts

By 12:00 on July 31, the official has dispatched 217 helicopter sorties in total, and cumulatively airdropped 66 tons of emergency supplies to places such as Bamianshan Yao Township, Longxi Village in Bailang Town, and Dongping Area in Huangcao.

The communication of the seat of the government of 13 township streets in Zixing City has been restored (among which Bamianshan realizes communication through satellite base stations and emergency communication support vehicles), and 183 villages have achieved communication contact, among which 132 villages have communication signal coverage, and the remaining 51 villages can only establish communication contact through satellite phones, satellite base stations and other emergency communication equipment, which has the need to make a small number of phone calls.

TapTechNews learned from the Hunan Provincial Communications Administration that in Zixing City, which was severely affected by the disaster, as of the morning of July 30, the communication industry has dispatched about 1300 repair personnel, 590 vehicles, and 670 generator sets, and cumulatively restored about 120 kilometers of optical cables and 60 communication base stations that were out of service due to the disaster. In the next step, it will organize to speed up the restoration of 25 out-of-service communication base stations and carry out reconstruction work simultaneously to ensure that the communication network is restored to the pre-disaster level.
