The cooperation will utilize the R & D capabilities of both companies in power management and power transmission to carry out work in the joint innovation laboratory located in Pingzhen District, Taiwan, China.

Learned from the announcement by TapTechNews, in the first stage of the cooperation, Delta will focus on developing a lighter and lower-cost 11 kilowatt on-board charger by using the new C2000 real-time microcontroller (MCU) launched by Texas Instruments and Texas Instruments' active electromagnetic interference (EMI) filtering products. The two companies work together to reduce the charger size by 30% while achieving a maximum power conversion efficiency of 95%.

In the second stage, Texas Instruments and Delta will integrate the new C2000 real-time MCU into automotive applications to help automakers reach the ASILD automotive safety integrity level. The highly integrated automotive isolation gate driver will further enhance the power density of the on-board charger while minimizing the size of the overall solution.

In the third stage, the two companies will use their experience in the development and manufacture of gallium nitride (GaN) technology to jointly develop the next-generation automotive power supply solutions.
