TapTechNews July 13th news, on July 12th, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology released the 'Notice on Selecting Pilot Cities for the Large-Scale Application of Beidou in the Field of Industry and Information Technology' and proposed that around the three fields of mass consumption, industrial manufacturing, and integrated innovation, combined with the local Beidou industry foundation, urban development characteristics and construction situation, actively carry out pilot work to speed up the improvement of the penetration rate of Beidou and promote the orderly upgrading and replacement of Beidou equipment and applications to the third generation of Beidou.
The 'Notice' requires each pilot city to choose at least one field to carry out pilot work, and the pilot contents are as follows:
Focus on the field of mass consumption to enhance the perception and popularity rate of Beidou application
Pilot cities focus on areas such as smart phones, wearable devices, tablet computers, shared travel, and low-altitude application drones, actively guiding enterprises to develop and produce Beidou products, and continuously improving product supply capacity. Carry out the application of Beidou in the field of mass consumption in different regions and steps, establish a dynamic supervision and feedback mechanism, continuously track and improve product performance, and continuously improve the user experience. Combined with local characteristics and resource endowments, give full play to the guiding role of the government, deeply expand the depth and breadth of Beidou application in the field of mass consumption, and cultivate new models and new forms of Beidou mass consumption applications.
Focus on the industrial manufacturing field to accelerate the empowerment of Beidou industry application
Pilot cities should, in combination with regional characteristics and construction situations, accelerate the promotion of Beidou application in key fields such as automobiles, ships, aircraft, and robots. Encourage relying on the construction of vehicle networking and intelligent connected related platforms to comprehensively expand the proportion of Beidou installed in key operating vehicles, public domain vehicles, commercial vehicles and passenger cars. Encourage and guide ships sailing in inland rivers, coastal areas, and distant oceans to accelerate the loading of Beidou. Encourage increasing support for enterprises in the aircraft field, and accelerate the research and development and application of Beidou navigation, short message and other airworthiness equipment. Encourage exploring new scenarios of Beidou application in the field of robots. Pilot cities, in combination with their industrial capabilities, geographical advantages, and industry characteristics, actively explore the innovation of industrial technology systems and application models, build a number of innovative application platforms, and cultivate a number of 'Beidou +' integrated innovation applications in various industries. Guide enterprises to carry out the integration of Beidou with new technologies such as 5G, high-resolution remote sensing, inertial navigation, high-precision vision, short-range interconnection, ultra-wideband (UWB) positioning, big data, and cloud computing, promote the innovative application of Bei dou in emerging industrial fields such as the Internet of Vehicles, the Internet of Things, the Industrial Internet, and artificial intelligence, and promote the deep integration of Beidou application with new scenarios such as smart cities, smart transportation, smart logistics, smart ocean, and precision agriculture.
The 'Notice' shows that the pilot cities carry out pilot work for a period of 2 years in accordance with the improved 'Implementation Plan of Beidou Large-Scale Application Pilot Cities'. After the expiration of the 2-year pilot period, combined with the implementation plans and expected goals of each city, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology will organize an expert group for assessment and acceptance.
