New TV Animation of 'Ghost in the Shell' Announced

TapTechNews May 25th news, the new TV animation adapted from the cyberpunk science fiction manga 'Ghost in the Shell' written by Masamune Shirow was officially announced. It is currently tentatively called 'Ghost in the Shell' and is expected to be aired in 2026.

However, this animation will be produced by the Science SARU studio instead of Production I.G. which was previously in charge of this series. The former's representative works include 'Devilman Crybaby', 'Keep Your Hands Off Eizouken!', 'The Night Is Short, Walk on Girl!', 'The Tale of the Heike', 'Inu-Oh', etc.

It is worth noting that the classic film 'Ghost in the Shell' (1995) directed by Mamoru Oshii has been confirmed to be introduced to the mainland market in the form of a new 4K digital restoration version last month, which belongs to the National Alliance of Arthouse Cinemas专线, but the release date has not been determined yet.
