New Studio Formed by Former DeviationGames Employees Within Sony PlayStation

On May 12, according to Michael Anthony, a former employee of DeviationGames, it is reported that a new studio may have been established within Sony PlayStation, consisting of former DeviationGames employees.

Anthony wrote on LinkedIn: As far as I know, many former DeviationGames employees have formed their own studio within Sony, working on an undisclosed new IP. I have seen that all the people who have joined this studio are top developers. I hope your new studio can create top-notch new IPs and have enough time to develop high-quality products, avoiding the red tape encountered in previous projects.

DeviationGames was founded in 2020 by two former developers of 'Call of Duty', but their first original work (originally planned as a PlayStation exclusive) was ultimately not released. In September 2022, one of DeviationGames’ co-founders and Chief Creative Officer, Jason Blundell, left the studio. It seems that Jason Blundell may have been involved in the creation of the new studio.

TapTechNews noticed that after Anthony's post, users on social media also mentioned another former DeviationGames employee, JC Farmer, who posted in December last year, saying: I've been wanting to say this for a while, and now I can say it! I am currently a junior game designer at PlayStation Studios, working for Jason Blundell.

It was reported that when DeviationGames reached an agreement with Sony in 2021, they had over 100 employees. At that time, the studio said that the agreement with Sony provided them with complete financial security for the coming years.
