Clip Unveils Plug-in Electric Assist Module for Bicycles

TapTechNews June 1 news, the overseas start-up company Clip recently launched a Clip "plug-in" electric assist module dedicated to bicycles with the same name as its own company, which can be installed on ordinary bicycles to turn the bicycles into electric vehicles and sells for 499 US dollars (TapTechNews note: currently about 3618 RMB).

According to the introduction, the module is composed of the main body including the motor/battery and the controller, with a weight of 4 kilograms and a battery capacity of 192 Wh. It takes 1 hour to fully charge, and the maximum cruising range is 12 miles (about 19.31 kilometers), and the maximum speed is 15 miles per hour (about 24.14 kilometers).

The official mentioned that the electric assist module comes with a snap, and it can be easily fixed on the front wheel of the bicycle with just a light push. Then the user needs to fix the controller on the bicycle and press the red button on the controller to provide assistance to the bicycle. The relevant motor also supports the energy recovery function, which is claimed to be able to restore 12%-18% of the battery power when going downhill.
