New Generation of Perovskite X-ray Imaging Detector Module Developed with Breakthroughs

TapTechNews August 23rd news, Hubei Optics Valley Laboratory, in collaboration with the Wuhan National Laboratory for Optoelectronics at Huazhong University of Science and Technology and the Ezhou Institute of Industry of Huazhong University of Science and Technology, successfully developed a new-generation perovskite X-ray imaging detector module, achieving breakthroughs in multiple key technologies.

The currently developed X-ray imaging module by the team has achieved high spatiotemporal resolution X-ray imaging with resolution > 20 lp/mm and response speed < 10 ms.

The following are the advantages of the large-area X-ray imaging detector module:

1. High luminous performance, enabling low-dose imaging (the light yield is 1.2 times that of CsI:Tl, 65000 photons・MeV-1);

2. Low afterglow characteristic (0.1% @ 10 ms), the response speed can reach 10 ms without ghosting residue, getting rid of the ghosting problem of traditional CsI:Tl flat-panel detection;

3. For the first time, a near-space sublimation method was used for columnar crystal thick film preparation for the scintillator film, reducing optical crosstalk and achieving high spatial resolution (20 lp・mm-1), and the imaging clarity is significantly improved.

The exciton-type scintillator material X-ray imaging detector module has the following advantages:

1. The first thermal exciton-type organic scintillator material, effectively utilizing triplet excitons, with high luminous performance (the light yield is 34600 photons・MeV-1, higher than 25000 photons・MeV-1 of LYSO);

2. Short decay lifetime (1.79 ns), enabling high frame rate dynamic imaging (10000 fps);

3. High spatial resolution (18.69 lp・mm-1), enabling clear imaging.

The X-ray energy spectrum detection module based on high-quality single crystalhas the following advantages:

1. The energy spectrum resolution is less than 2%, which can effectively identify elemental information;

2. The integrated module can achieve multi-energy detection and realize color imaging.

TapTechNews noted that the above X-ray detector modules can achieve multi-substrate compatibility and have low cost, expected to be reduced to half the price of similar products in the market.

Specific parameters of the detector module are as follows:
