UnionPay Network Integrates with WeChat Pay QR Code

TapTechNews on June 19 reported that TapTechNews learned from the official UnionPay website that the UnionPay network has fully welcomed the access of WeChat Pay's collection QR code scenarios, promoting the interoperability of barcode payment.

In June 2024, along with the opening of the WeChat Pay's business collection QR code, all kinds of WeChat Pay's collection QR codes have achieved full-scenario opening to the UnionPay network. Currently, in the primary scan scenarios of various collection QR codes of WeChat, users can open the UnionPay QuickPass App to realize scan code payment. In addition, UnionPay has jointly launched corresponding activities with major commercial banks, and users using the UnionPay QuickPass App to scan the WeChat collection QR code can enjoy discounts.

UnionPay of China stated that it will continue to play the role of a hub and coordinator of the card organization and continuously promote open cooperation with all parties in the industry such as Tenpay and Alipay.

Officially introduced, the UnionPay QuickPass App is a mobile payment strategic product jointly built and shared by various commercial banks, all parties in the industry, and UnionPay of China. Users can bind and manage various bank accounts through UnionPay QuickPass and use the mobile payment services of various banks, including QR code payment, card-free payment, transfer, mobile flash payment, riding code and other mobile payment services.

According to TapTechNews' previous report, at the UnionPay QuickPass 10.0 Press Conference held at the end of 2023, UnionPay of China stated that the registered users of the UnionPay QuickPass App have exceeded 500 million, and the number of merchants that can accept UnionPay QuickPass payment has exceeded 30 million.
