Hive Box and Shanghai Metro Launch First Luggage Storage Service Trial

TapTechNews August 1st, Hive Box jointly with Shanghai Metro initiated the luggage storage service for the first time on a trial basis. This trial has set up multiple luggage storage points in major stations of Shanghai Metro such as Lujiazui and Dongfang Sports Center, covering transportation hubs, business districts and areas around popular scenic spots.

Passengers can open the Hive Box mini-program through methods such as scanning the WeChat and Alipay codes, and conduct self-service operations according to the guidance, and can view the busy/idle status of the storage points in real time. During the trial period (TapTechNews note: from July 27th to the end of August), luggage storage does not charge a fee temporarily, providing a single 8-hour free luggage storage service.

The luggage storage points of this trial are divided into three specifications: small, medium and large. The small-sized storage cabinet can store items the size of a backpack; the medium-sized specification can store a 20-inch suitcase or an object of the same volume; the large-sized specification can store a 28-inch suitcase.
