China's High-Speed Flying Car Project Key Milestones and Future Prospects

TapTechNews August 5th news, according to the Science and Technology Daily report, it was learned from the high-speed flying car test base in Yanggao County, Datong City, Shanxi Province. Recently, the full-scale test line (phase I) project of the ultra-high-speed low-vacuum pipeline magnetic levitation transportation system (hereinafter referred to as high-speed flying car) of the central and local cooperation between China Aerospace Science and Industry Corporation Limited and Shanxi Province in Datong City, Shanxi Province successfully completed the system integration demonstration and verification test in a low-vacuum environment and passed the on-site test and inspection by the Shanxi Provincial Department of Science and Technology. This indicates that the project has the conditions for project acceptance.

According to the introduction, this test uses an ultra-navigation vehicle. After the project team established a low-vacuum environment within the 2-kilometer pipeline, the ultra-navigation vehicle set sail and controlled navigation, stable suspension and safe stop according to the preset control curve. The maximum navigation speed and suspension height conform to the preset values, and all systems work normally. The measured track has good consistency with the theoretical curve, and the test is successful.

According to the relevant person in charge of this project, This test realizes the superconducting suspension navigation of the full-scale high-speed flying car system in a low-vacuum environment with the whole system, the whole process, and all elements, and verifies key technologies such as the establishment and maintenance of long-distance large-size vacuum environment and ultra-navigation control, and verifies the coordination between systems in a low-vacuum environment and the working performance of the whole system. This test further improves the overall technical maturity of the system and lays a solid technical foundation for the subsequent medium-test verification of high-speed flying cars.

According to TapTechNews, the high-speed flying car Datong (Yanggao) test line in China is the first full-scale test line of the ultra-high-speed low-vacuum pipeline magnetic levitation transportation system in China. The project is located in Yanggao County, Datong City, with a total line length of 2 kilometers. The starting point is 500 meters west of Yanggao South Station. This is also the world's longest and largest full-scale ultra-high-speed low-vacuum pipeline magnetic levitation transportation system test line under construction.

The high-speed flying car project officially started construction in Yanggao County, Datong City in April 2022. This project integrates aerospace technology and ground rail transit technology, and the goal is to achieve the ultra-high-speed near-ground flight of orbital trains, orbital trains can travel at a speed of 1000 kilometers per hour. In the future, high-speed flying cars can be used for transportation between megacity clusters, and it can take about one and a half hours from Beijing to Shanghai.
