TapTechNews May 21st news, former UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson recently conducted a 45-minute Tesla FSD test drive on the streets of Los Angeles, USA, and expressed his firm belief that driverless cars will become the future mode of transportation. In a column article published in the Daily Mail, Johnson detailed his experience. He wrote: I was sitting in the driver's seat but not touching the steering wheel. Although my feet were near the pedals, I didn't use them. Oh my goodness, the steering wheel was turning by itself. It felt very strange at first, like seeing a ghost playing the piano. Now, it's turning on the turn signals, giving way, and maneuvering through the traffic flow with light and accurate movements, as if a real driver was operating. I can't help but be amazed that its operation is so smooth and so human-like.

Johnson also mentioned some of his concerns about safety during the driving process, especially at some complex intersections. However, he mentioned that at a five-way intersection in Beverly Hills, the car successfully completed a left turn, which made him feel very relieved. TapTechNews noted that during the entire driving process, the only slight confusion Johnson mentioned was that the vehicle did not understand the gesture of a pedestrian to let the car move forward. However, the Tesla employee explained that this gesture recognition function will be implemented soon.

The Tesla employee said when talking about this driving experience: This car is already excellent, but this is its worst state, and it will get exponentially better.

Johnson said when talking about driverless vehicles: In the future, everyone will do this: read books, play cards, or just take a nap in an automatically driven vehicle. The vehicle will travel faster, quieter, with less pollution - and safer.
