Toyota and GAC Toyota Recall in the US

TapTechNews June 21 news, TapTechNews learned from the State Administration for Market Regulation that Toyota Motor (China) Investment Co., Ltd. and GAC Toyota Motor Co., Ltd. have filed a recall plan with the State Administration for Market Regulation in accordance with the Requirements of the Regulations on the Management of Recalled Defective Automobile Products and the Implementing Measures for the Regulations on the Management of Recalled Defective Automobile Products, and will recall the following vehicles starting from July 12, 2024.

First, Toyota Motor (China) Investment Co., Ltd.

Recall some imported Lexus RX, NX, UX, LS, ES, RZ cars and some imported Toyota Crown SportCross cars produced from November 7, 2022 to September 8, 2023, a total of 53,082 vehicles.

Second, GAC Toyota Motor Co., Ltd.

Recall some bZ4X cars produced from November 21, 2022 to August 22, 2023, a total of 1,317 vehicles.

In some vehicles within the scope of this recall, the welding at the joint of the front and rear camera housings of the panoramic monitoring system or the rear camera housing of the reversing image system is poor, resulting in insufficient waterproof performance. Rainwater and other substances invade the inside of the cameras, causing circuit corrosion and poor conduction, resulting in the inability to display the front and rear camera images, increasing the risk of vehicle collision and presenting a potential safety hazard.

Toyota Motor (China) Investment Co., Ltd. and GAC Toyota Motor Co., Ltd. will inspect the manufacturing numbers of the front and rear cameras for the vehicles within the recall scope. If they belong to the defective batch, the cameras will be replaced free of charge to eliminate the potential safety hazard.
