According to TapTechNews, this tool named Söze was developed by the Australian company Akkodis and is currently being trialed by the AvonandSomerset police in the UK. This technology can analyze years of data, including videos, financial records, and social media, within a few hours, thus saving detectives a significant amount of time.

It is found through evaluation that Söze only spent 30 hours reviewing the evidence of 27 complex cases, while it would take humans decades to complete this work. Gavin Stephens, the chairman of the UK National Police Chiefs' Council, clearly stated that the potential of AI in cold cases is huge because the large amount of evidence makes the investigation almost impossible.

It is reported that the police resources in the UK are already quite strained, and police officers are moving away from the cold case department. Nevertheless, this tool is part of a broader AI effort aimed at saving investigation time and resources across the UK. However, Stephens emphasized that artificial intelligence will not replace human police officers, but only help them make decisions, faster and more efficient than traditional methods.

This AI tool can bring new hope to unresolved cases and allow justice to be served.
