New Baotou-Yinchuan High-Speed Railway Section Starts Commissioning

TapTechNews July 16th news, the commissioning and testing work of the Huinong-Yinchuan section (hereinafter referred to as the Baotou-Yinchuan High-Speed Railway Huinong-Yinchuan section by TapTechNews) of the newly built Baotou-Yinchuan High-Speed Railway has officially started, laying a solid foundation for the opening of the line as scheduled.

Baotou-Yinchuan High-Speed Railway is an important part of the Jinglan Passage of China's Eight Vertical and Eight Horizontal high-speed railway network. The designed speed is 250 kilometers per hour, and the total length of the main line of the whole line is 420 kilometers (about 261 miles). After the line is completed and opened to traffic, the fastest travel time of the train from Baotou to Yinchuan will be shortened from 6 hours to about 2 hours.

According to public information, the Huinong-Yinchuan section of the Baotou-Yinchuan High-Speed Railway starts from Huinong District, Shizuishan City, Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, passes through Dawukou District and Pingluo County of Shizuishan City, and finally reaches Yinchuan City after passing about 2.6 kilometers west of the Shahu scenic area. The newly built line of the Huinong-Yinchuan section of the Baotou-Yinchuan High-Speed Railway is about 99 kilometers (about 61.5 miles), with a designed speed of 250 kilometers per hour. There are 4 stations including Huinong South, Shizuishan, Shahu, and Yinchuan, among which Huinong South, Shizuishan, and Shahu are newly built stations.

The official pointed out that after the opening and operation of the Huinong-Yinchuan section of the Baotou-Yinchuan High-Speed Railway, Shizuishan City will end the history of no high-speed rail. After the completion of the whole Baotou-Yinchuan High-Speed Railway, it will become a major traffic artery and economic corridor connecting the northwest region with the northeast and north China regions, which is of great significance for improving the layout of the national high-speed railway network, optimizing the comprehensive transportation system of the Jinglan Passage, meeting the rapid travel needs of passengers, and promoting the economic and social development of the northwest region.
