JD Pay and WeChat Pay Achieve Interoperability

TapTechNews May 20th news, recently, JD Pay has achieved interoperability with WeChat Pay and has become the first third-party payment institution in the industry to simultaneously connect WeChat's personal code and merchant code.

According to the introduction, users can scan the WeChat collection code through the JD Finance App to make payments, and can also enjoy an immediate discount when paying, with a maximum reduction of $4.65 (30 yuan).

JD officials said that this interoperability is the access under the unified business rules and technical standards of the Network Clearing Corporation. When users visit roadside stalls, convenience supermarkets, vegetable markets, etc., whenever they see the WeChat collection QR code of the merchant, they can scan it.

TapTechNews noted that in June 2022, JD announced the renewal of a three-year strategic cooperation agreement with Tencent. Tencent will continue to provide JD with significant first-level and second-level access entrances on its WeChat platform to provide traffic support, and both parties also intend to continue to cooperate in multiple fields such as communication, technical services, marketing and advertising, and membership services.
