Xiaomi 15 Series Phones with IP69 Dustproof and Waterproof Feature Revealed

TapTechNews July 5th news, sources gsmchina posted a blog yesterday, revealing that the Xiaomi 15 series mobile phones support IP69 level dustproof and waterproof, meaning that this phone has the highest dustproof and waterproof level of the IEC60529 international standard.

The source said that there are two models in the Xiaomi 15 series, namely Xiaomi 15 and Xiaomi 15Pro, and both of these models have reached the IP69 level standard. In contrast, the dustproof and waterproof level of the Xiaomi 14 series is IP68.

For any device, the IP (Ingress Protection) rating is an important factor because it shows how well the electronic device is protected against foreign substances such as dust and moisture.

TapTechNews queried the description of the IEC60529 international standard, and IP69 represents that the protection level reaches level 6 dustproof and level 9 waterproof:

Level 6 dustproof: Completely prevent the intrusion of foreign objects and dust

Level 9 waterproof: Prevent the continuous soaking effect in water deeper than 1 meter (about 3.28 feet); Use a water jet with a water flow of 15 liters/min at a distance of 175mm (about 6.89 inches), and the test time is 30 seconds at positions 0°, 30°, 60°, and 90°.
