CRRC China Debuts Green and Smart Trains at InnoTrans 2024 in Berlin

TapTechNews September 26th news, the official public account of CRRC China announced yesterday (September 25th) that it will attend InnoTrans 2024 held in Berlin, Germany, with the theme of 'Towards a Low-Carbon Future', globally debuting the CINOVAH₂ new energy intelligent intercity/suburban EMU and the Smart Rail 2.0, two latest green and smart trains.

CINOVAH₂ New Energy Intelligent Intercity/Suburban EMU

The CINOVAH₂ new energy intelligent intercity/suburban EMU integrates multiple technologies such as lightweight, energy conservation and emission reduction, and hydrogen-electric hybrid. The continuous operating speed is 100 miles per hour, and the maximum speed can reach 125 mph, and the full-load cruising range can reach 746 miles, which is more than the distance from Berlin, Germany to London, UK, equivalent to less than 0.3 grams of hydrogen per person per mile.

The CINOVAH₂ train is powered by hydrogen, which uses the chemical reaction between hydrogen and oxygen to generate electricity to drive, and the reaction product is only water, with zero carbon emissions during the whole journey. If it is estimated that the average annual operation is 300,000 miles, each train can reduce carbon dioxide emissions by about 730 tons per year.

Smart Rail 2.0

Smart Rail is a new type of medium and low-capacity green rail transit tool, which has the advantages of both trams and road traffic vehicles and meets the needs of urban public transportation. Due to the use of rubber tires and virtual tracks, there is no need to build steel rails and power supply grids, and the construction and maintenance costs are reduced.

Smart Rail 2.0 supports a variety of energy supply methods such as fast-charging lithium batteries, super capacitors, hydrogen energy, and catenary power supply, which can meet different scenario needs, with a maximum cruising range of 311 miles, and it can increase the cruising range by 12 miles with 5 minutes of charging. TapTechNews attaches the relevant video as follows:

Smart Rail 2.0 is an innovative medium and low-capacity rail transit system with a maximum operating speed of 62 mph, integrating the advantages of rail transit and road traffic, which can save 15% of hardware investment and 40% of installation space.
