TapTechNews reported in March this year that the Embracer Group split Saber Interactive and sold some studios in a package to Beacon Interactive for $247 million.

The new owner of Saber Interactive is Beacon Interactive, which was founded by Matthew Karch, the co-founder of Saber Interactive Studio, meaning that after all the twists and turns, Saber Interactive has returned to its original owner.

Saber Interactive is an American video game developer and publisher, founded in 2001 and headquartered in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

Saber Interactive was acquired by the Embracer Group in February 2020 and became a direct subsidiary of the group, with more than 1,350 employees.

In the latest announcement, the Embracer Group stated that it will continue to retain companies such as Zen Studios and 4A Games.

Beacon originally had the right to acquire these two studios from the Embracer, but the latest announcement released by the group shows that this transaction has now been cancelled.

In the same notice, the Embracer announced that it has received an advance payment of $168.4 million for Saber's assets, and will also pay $28.1 million in 2024 and 2025 respectively.
