TapTechNews noticed that Pocketpair CEO Mizobe Takuro mentioned in an interview that considering from a business perspective, turning Palworld into a continuously operating game can extend the game's lifespan and improve profit stability. However, since the game was not originally designed in this way, it faces many challenges.

After strong opposition from some fans, the developer Pocketpair posted on the official X account to assure players that it will not change the game's business model and will still remain a buy-to-play model and not convert to F2P or GaaS model.

Pocketpair stated that the above interview was conducted several months ago when it was still exploring the best path to create a long-term growth game. Although it is still being discussed internally, but it has been determined that the F2P/GaaS model is not suitable for Palworld.

Pocketpair further explained that Palworld has never been designed according to the free model, and it requires a lot of work to make changes at this stage. In addition, they also realize that this is not what players want and will always put players first.

In the future, Pocketpair may consider launching skins and DLC to support game development, but will make a decision after further discussion with players. Pocketpair said that currently its primary task is to make Palworld the best game.

Since its launch on Steam and Xbox Game Preview in January this year, Palworld has attracted 25 million players in the first month.
